Learning
HJPS develops life-long learning of core skills through a National and Jewish Studies curriculum. We cater for children between the ages of 3 to 11 years. It consists of three stages
Early Years Foundation Stage – Nursery & Reception
Key Stage 1 – Years 1 & 2
Key Stage 2 – Years 3, 4, 5 & 6
The school is a thriving vibrant community with happy children, who flourish in a lively learning environment.
We support and encourage curriculum innovation and actively promote the integration of Jewish Studies with secular subjects. All of our classrooms have interactive whiteboards that provide very visual and stimulating classroom materials to motivate learning. Assessment for Learning plays an important part in classroom practice, which helps to ensure our students are fully involved in assessing their own work.
The curriculum is skills-led and designed to meet the needs of children who will be future global citizens.
At HJPS we follow the New National Curriculum. We believe we are providing a secure foundation from which children can thrive and build a successful future for themselves, whilst becoming responsible members of society. The curriculum is supported by special days and weeks that further bring to life topics studied, offering greater insight and empathy and celebrating our school community.
Learning should be enjoyable, enriching and inspire a desire to learn and as a school we are continuously striving to improve. We have high expectations of ourselves and the children we teach.
