Book week
Every year, the Book Fair comes to HJPS as part of Book Week.
World Book Day is also incorporated into Book Week, t-shirts are designed with a favourite book character and competitions are held to give children a love of reading.
We invite a children’s author to participate in a Question & Answer session and deliver creative writing lessons to bring books and reading to life.
Science week
Every year at HJPS we celebrate British Science Week. In 2024 this is from 8-17 March. Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths – with a specific topic to focus on.
In school we teach lessons around the theme, sharing our learning and generating interest around the topic.
Neurodiversity week
Neurodiversity week is an initiative to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences.
It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing children with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.
