DSC_7855Sport is featured very highly at HJPS.  Children are taught two hours of high-quality PE by the PE department. The National Curriculum for PE is taught and in Key Stage 1, the children learn games, gymnastics and dance. In Key Stage 2 the children learn games, gymnastics, dance, swimming, outdoor and adventurous activities and athletics.

Children at HJPS take part in various sporting matches and fixtures throughout the year. These are organised and run by Maccabi and the Watford and Hertsmere School Sports Partnership.  Trials for sports teams will take place and parents will be notified by the players in advance.

Depending on the time of year and demand, HJPS offer various sporting after school clubs.  These clubs include netball, football, karate, gymnastics, Israeli dancing, and tennis.  Please click here to see all the clubs on offer for our pupils.

We are delighted to announce that HJPS have achieved the School Games Gold Kitemark Award for the 2019/20 academic year.

The School Games Kitemark is a government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community and we are delighted to have been recognised.

With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition , workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year. We look forward to applying once again in 2021.

HJPS achieved the Gold Award from the Watford and Hertsmere School Sports Partnership.

The school was rewarded for our commitment, engagement and delivery of sport and physical education.  We were presented with this award at the PE Headteachers Conference in October 2019.
