Year 6 Maccabi Football Tournament

Football

In our last ever Maccabi football tournament, the pressure was on the Year 6 A-Team to finally win the cup after getting to two previous finals. We didn’t let the pressure or the terrible weather stop us!

We won 3 of our 4 group matches and drew 1, scoring 13 goals and only letting in 1. We showed great determination and teamwork. The strong bond between us was clear when we encouraged our goalkeeper Riley to play out of goal in one match to join in with the fun!

We came top of our group and went on to play Kerem in the quarter final winning 2-0. The rain got heavier but we stormed into the final, winning the semi final 1-0. With our Mums cheering us on from under their umbrellas, we were determined to finally bring the cup back to HJPS.

We played great football in the final against Akiva and Charlie scored the winning goal. The crowd went wild (ok – our Mums did!) and we had done it! Champions at last!

 The Team – Riley K,  Joshua D, Ethan G, Milo W, Ollie W, Charlie W, Jake R and Solly J.
