About HJPS

Staff structure

The day to day management of the school is led by the Acting Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team.  They take a school-wide perspective in decision making and contribute to the overall leadership and tactical management of the school.  The SLT is comprised of the staff members shown below.

The Assessment Team

The Assessment Team monitors progress and attainment of the core National Curriculum areas – Literacy, Numeracy and Science.  This team is led by the Acting Headteacher, the Curriculum Development Leader and they report to the Senior Leadership Team.  The Assessment Team is made up of the Literacy Team, Numeracy Team, Science Team, Assessment Team and the Inclusion Team.

The Strategic Team

The focus of this team is the overall strategic leadership of HJPS, which consists of the Acting Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher/Head of Jewish Studies and Assistant Headteachers.

Mrs Alak-Levi - Interim Headteacher/Teaching and Learning

Mrs Alak-Levi graduated from North London University in 1989, gaining her B.Ed (Honours). She has been a member of the leadership teams in six schools and was the first primary teacher in the Borough of Barnet to be awarded Advanced Skills Teacher status. Mrs Alak-Levi also had the honour of teaching in front of HRH Prince Charles and Chief Inspectors Chris Woodhead and David Bell. She is currently completing her NPQH qualification.

Mrs Collins - Acting Deputy Headteacher/PHSE

Mrs Collins graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2006, gaining a BA (Hons) in Conference and Exhibition Management and an HND in Hospitality and Events. She then completed a PGCE in Primary Education with the Agency of Jewish Education. Miss Rubin has been teaching at HJPS since 2007. She was appointed Phase Leader of Key Stage 1 in 2010, became Assistant Headteacher and is currently Acting Deputy Headteacher. Mrs Collins enjoys taking part in the creative arts and helping to organise events for the whole school to enjoy. She has been a governor for the last 9 years.

Mrs Waller - Acting Deputy Headteacher/Inclusion Leader/Lead DSP

Mrs Waller graduated from the University of Luton in 1995 with a BA honours degree in Humanities. She then began a career in marketing and spent eight years working as a Marketing Manager and heading up a team. In 2003, after having her own children, she trained as an ESOL teacher and then in 2005 she re-trained as a primary teacher, gaining her GTP. She has worked as a teacher at HJPS since 2005, taking on a variety of roles and responsibilities.

Mrs Lipman - Phase Leader (Year 5/Year 6)/Curriculum Development Leader

Mrs Lipman graduated from Birmingham University in 2003, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. She went on to complete her PGCE in Primary Education at Manchester Metropolitan University, moving to London to take up her first position teaching in Year 6 at Clore Shalom School. Following 7 years of teaching within the private sector, Mrs Lipman took up the role of Year 5 teacher at HJPS in 2014; going on to lead the Maths curriculum team and become the Curriculum Development Leader. She enjoys opportunities to be creative with children, encouraging them to become independent thinkers and well-rounded individuals.

Mrs Myeroff - Early Years Leader/Phase Leader (EYFS/Year 1)

Mrs Myeroff studied at Birmingham University, graduating in 1999 and then completed a PGCE in 2000 at the University of Hertfordshire. She started her career in a Junior school in Croxley Green as a class teacher and PE Co-ordinator for 2 years. She then moved to Heathfield School as a class teacher and Literacy Co-ordinator. After having a career break, she moved to Clore Shalom as the nursery teacher and joined HJPS in 2014. Mrs Myeroff has taught across a wide range of year groups and held a number of different co-ordinator roles.

Mrs Thomas - School Business Manager/Deputy DSP

Mrs Thomas has 20 years’ experience in marketing, finance and business management positions. She initially worked in the finance industry for Global Asset Management and then Raymond James Investment Services, before moving into the childcare industry, working for Asquith Nurseries and now HJPS. Mrs Thomas enjoys the diverse nature of her role, liaising with various departments and individuals on a daily basis, both in school and externally.
